New organisation in the Danish Gambling Authority gives licensees a better overview

10, Oct 2017

On October 1st, 2017, a new internal organisation of the Danish Gambling Authority entered into force. While the authority is still divided into four offices, the new organisation is based on the different gambling categories.

Thus, from now on, each office has responsibility for all the processes belonging to a specific gambling category; from dialogue and guidance to issuing permits and ongoing supervision, etc. At the same time, a number of cross-disciplinary working groups are maintained. In these groups, the offices coordinate and deepen in areas such as money laundering and marketing.

The four new offices have been named "Lottery and Monopoly", "Remote Gambling", "Slot Machines and Responsible Gambling" and "Finance, Policy, and Analysis."

With the new organization, the individual licensee will have only one point of entry to the Danish Gambling Authority.

-The idea behind the new organisation is a natural, further streamlining of The Danish Gambling Authority, says Director Birgitte Sand. – It is intended to create an even better overview and a clearer connection for our collaborators. I expect that with the new organisation we will be even better at ensuring a well-functioning gaming market through clear contact areas and continued cooperation with the licensees and our other important stakeholders.
