Monthly statistics: Minor increase in the Danes’ gambling spend
The Danish Gambling Authority has released figures for the Danish gambling market in March in the monthly statistics. The figures show a minor increase in the Danes' gambling spend. This edition of the statistics also include a new gambling category: land-based bingo.
Gambling market figures from March show that the Danes’ gambling spend increased by 1.4 per cent compared with March 2024. The total increase is driven by online casino which saw a growth of 6.4 per cent compared with March 2024. On the other hand, betting, gaming machines and land-based casino saw a slight fall in the gambling spend.
New gambling category: Land-based bingo
From 1 January 2025, it became possible to offer bingo on the liberalised gambling market in Denmark. As of March, this gambling category will be included in the monthly statistics.
Please note that all land-based bingo offered as charity lotteries will still be included in the statistics on charity lottieries. Thus, it is only figures from the operators licensed by the Danish Gambling Authority to offer land-based bingo on the liberalised market, which are included in the monthly statistics.
