New provisions on MitID
On 1 July 2022, new rules on the use of an eID enter into force in the Executive Orders on online casino and online betting.
MitID is the new eID in Denmark consequently NemID will be phased out. This has made necessary an update of section 7 of the Executive Orders.
The Danish Gambling Authority notes that it is possible to use both NemID and MitID until NemID is phased out, which means that licence holders will have a period to implement the changes that MitID requires.
The Danish Gambling Authority will publish a newsletter on our website as soon as possible and the guide on betting and online casino will be updated as well.
