The quarterly data is based on duty payments from all license holders. In Q1 the GGR for betting reached 440 M DKK. This is higher than the equivalent quarter in 2014. In Q1 the GGR for online casino grew approximately 20 per cent compared to the same quarter in 2014. This is higher growth rate than we have seen in previous quarters where it has been around 10 per cent.
In March 2015 there were approximately 26,000 gaming machines in gaming halls and restaurants.
The GGR data for Q1 2015 is equal to same quarter last year. The GGR has been constant for the last 3 quarters.
Land based casinos
There are seven land based casinos located in Copenhagen, Elsinore, Odense, Vejle, Aarhus, Aalborg and the ferry Pearl Seaway between Copenhagen and Oslo.
The GGR for land based casinos are equal to the same quarter last year.
The total gambling market
An estimate of the total gross gambling revenue (GGR) for the Danish gambling market in 2015 will be published when data for the 1 and 2 quarter is available.
