Local pool betting

Associations, companies and other legal entities who organise horse racing, dog racing on racetrack, cycling races on track and pigeon races can apply for a licences to offer local pool betting at the track where the race takes place.

Local pool betting is defined as one or more bets where the entire prize or parts of it depend on the size of the total pool of stakes or is shared between the winners and which are offered in a limited area contrary to national betting. 

How to obtain a licence for local pool betting

You must complete and send the application form no. 4-01 digitally or as a pdf to the Danish Gambling Authority via Bluewhale or our contact form. 

It is free to apply for a licence for local pool betting. 

A licence for local pool betting may apply for up to three years and for a fixed number of days each year. The licence applies to a geographically locally defined area, contrary to national betting.
